My friend Kay Holmes from Juneau, Alaska, came down for a visit. We did some hiking and canoeing. She's a botanist and I actually learned some of the things I should have learned in high school biology but didn't, since I never took it.
My friend Wayne Trzyna came up from Ft. Collins and we did some fishing. We had a fun float on a tributary of the Missouri, although it was low and scratchy and the big fish had already moved down to the main river. We also did a float on the Blackfoot, which was lousy fishing, and hiked up to North Fork Falls, where we caught some nice four to six inchers :-).
One one of my conditioning rides with Poppie I came across a bunch of ripe huckleberries.
I climbed Ovando Mountain with some neighbors and staff from the Nature Conservancy.
I had a great two week pack trip into the Bob.
My friend Betsy Gerlach and I hiked up to Turquoise Lake and explored around.
Ian and Trudy came for a visit and we had some fun trips!
For once, I wasn't up in the hills when the barn dance happened!
In the second week of September, the last week before back country hunting season opened, I decided to go explore the upper Dearborn and the Scapegoat massif. Wow!
