And then it was time for the games. Dona and I had been looking forward to this, but we had no idea what to expect -- except we knew it would be good.
The first event was a relay race, with relationship challenges every step of the way. As Ram explained the rules, "Cheating and bribery were not discouraged." These were my kind of games.
Ram, the Grand Poo-bah, gave game instructions
First, you had to "Get Hitched" |
Then there was a Ring Exchange | A First Kiss |
Cake Cutting included
Finding a Jelly Bean |
The Dance ... | ... something all the girls
knew from Way Back |
The Garter Toss |
The Ball And Chain | Start of the Long Haul |
And then, it was our turn.
Team A ties the knot ... | ... mostly
It held even in hard times! |
Kissing the Bride |
Cuting the Cake |
Tossing the garter from way too close | Looks like team A
is in it for the long haul |
Team B was our team, and we cleaned up. Then team C took off.
Whoops, their knot wasn't so good | But they were still together at the end. |
They were great kissers! |
Champs at eating cake | And they too were in it for the long haul. |
After the relay race, we had a bird watching and identification challenge. Ram and Dawn had placed carved, painted birds of different species all over the place. Half of them were Ram's favorites, and half were Dawn's. Our job was to find and identify them. Fortunately, for the non-birders and the birders-at-heart but with dubious i.d. skills, they all wore nametags. After finding them all, we had to identify which were Ram's favorites, which were Dawn's, and which were both.
Checking Birds |
The last of the games was a jeopardy game. Five categories, one of which was Ram and Dawn. One question was "who loves birds more?" See, the chicken thing way back there was important! Another category related to bird relationships. And them some obscure things like famous weddings, which I was useless for.
