We've had two grandkids to entertain for six weeks, so I didn't get any climbing in during that interval. Then my partners were out of town on their own adventures. It has been hot and with the forest fires burning everywhere many of the local areas are closed or too smokey to be healthy. Four of us finally got together at Mulkey Gulch.

We warmed up on familiar routes on Mulkey Tower, Link-up and Peretto Bros.

There is a route about twenty feet left and up the hill a bit from Pouting Game. I don't know what it's called. It's a more difficult route; Tim lead it and Michael followed. When Kurt and I finished Pouting Game we did that one too. It was pretty thin for me.

While I was doing Pouting Game Tim was nice enough to grab my camera and take a few shots.

Then we moved right and up toward the cave on the right side of Mulkey Tower. Michael and Tim knocked off Honey Hunter (5.9+). Tim continued on up and to the right to set up a top rope for the two routes just above the cave. I did Honey Hunter on a top rope while Kurt was down at the car snacking. Then Michael started up the route between Honey Hunter and Hanta Virus (5.11). It was quite a bit thinner.

Kurt and I finished off the day by hiking up past the Bottleneck and ng Clovis Man. It is a short route on a lowish angle slab with lots of small chert nubbins.
