I spent Christmas day with Dona and part of her family down in Missoula. Her sons Sid and Alex were there, along with Alex's wife Tash and their son Aiden, and Dona's parents Don and Dorothy.

Dona and I spent time before Christmas making turning some ornaments on a lathe. We gave most of them away, but kept a few rejects for ourselves. The little ball-ish thing is a sea urchin. We decided we didn't was people decimating reefs and sea urchin populations to get them, so we're looking for other alternatives. We've tried eggs, but they are a bear to coat with epoxy to make them strong enough. If you can think of an environmentally friendly alternative, let us know!

with a tiny flat and phillips blade for fixing eye-glasses, in addition to a regular phillips and flat blade. Hey, Santa thought it was a good idea... |
Dona gave me a true labor of love, a hand made pine needle basket -- that she made herself.
