After spending a lot of time working with my new-last-fall horse Sambo, a Shagya Arabian I got from my friend Adele Furby who lives up in Moeise, Montana, I finally screwed up my courage and got back on. It was relatively uneventfull, but I'm grateful I did all that work and had a nightlatch handy... I learned a lot of very useful stuff in the process, and it made the successful getting back on possible. He's becoming quite a pal. We're now doing lots of day rides and still learning -- both of us. I'm hoping to be able to use him as one of my main pack trip riding horses next year.
Dona and I finally got away on a pack trip. We tried out her new horse, Sky, our new pack horse, Scheba, and climbed Scapegoat Mountain.
Then we took a canoe trip through the Missouri River Breaks with our friends Bill and Carol. Our homemade sailing rig worked!
